• Actress and singer, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews – and her husband, Alfred Marks – on the ghost train at Chessington Zoo. The daughter of circus and fairground performers, Paddie spent her childhood travelling with and working on the fairgrounds. Following her time at a London stage school she was spotted and signed up by the BBC. She spent the war years as a featured singer on radio, and compered the popular variety show, Navy Mixture.
