Others – including Mary Wilson and several songwriters – add comments,
getting a beaming reaction from Berry Gordy

It was Gordy – a songwriter, ex-boxer and music-store owner – who borrowed $800
to create Tamla Records in January of 1959. A year later,
he changed its name to Motown.
